The Legion Fire Protection Difference

Types of Fire Sprinkler Systems
There are four main types of fire sprinklers. We are able to install, inspect, service and repair all types of fire sprinkler heads. See below for a description of each so you will understand which is most suited for your property.
Dry Pipe
Buildings that are in low temperature areas or settings are an ideal candidate for a dry standpipe fire sprinkler system. Pressurized air inside the pipe exits before water escapes. A fast opening tool can be used on the sprinkler head to remove air quicker and speed up water flow in the system.
Wet Pipe
Wet pipe fire sprinkler systems are cost efficient and low maintenance. These fire sprinkler systems always have water flowing in them. These are the most common type of sprinkler head installed in buildings due to the quick reaction to fire. High rises and office buildings are ideal for this type of system.
Pre-Action
Like the Dry Pipe fire sprinkler system, Pre-Action systems also utilize air in the pipes. A smoke or heat detector is required. This system requires two separate triggers to begin water flow. This will ensure that water wont release on a false alarm. This fire sprinkler system is ideal for buildings or settings where unnecessary water damage can be problematic, such as locations with heavy electronics like data centers or labs.
Deluge
Like the Pre-Action fire sprinkler systems, the deluge system requires a smoke or heat detector. This system is ideal for buildings that have a bigger potential for fires spreading quickly, such as industrial locations. This system is not pressurized.
